Tuesday, July 10th, 2007. A day that will forever define my career.
Donna pointed to my hip and said, "your phone is blinking!". Without even looking or listening to the message I knew that it was PACCAR. The IT department's HR specialist, Shayna, had left a message asking for an interview time. There was no need to waste time, I reterned her call and scheduled a time for the following day, Wednesday at 2:00pm.
The interview went very well. All four interviewers attacked me with a long list of questions, longer than any other interview I had been a part of. I had at least someone smiling with every answer... they liked me.
Once the interview was over they took about 20 seconds to "deliberate" and Jacki popped her head back in the room to thank me for my time. Shayna then proceeded to explain PACCAR benefits and ask me a few more questions, most repeats of the actual interview. This part hadn't happened when I interviewed for another position at PACCAR so I knew something was up. Shayna confirmed my suspicions and now I knew that only formalities stood in my way. References had to be checked and a third-party background check had to be returned.
Now I can only wait, letter of resignation in hand, for the official offer and for another new begining.
"every new begining is another begining's end"
